Week 17

OHHHH myyyy gosh, I had to get up THREE TIMES to pee last night.  Three times!  And I’m not even halfway there.  Pretty soon, I’ll just have to pee all night and I’ll go take brief naps when I’m not peeing.  Better yet, maybe I’ll just kill two birds with one stone and sleep on the toilet.  What the heck?  I hope last night was a fluke and not the beginning of a new trend.  Geez.  I’m not prepared for that yet.

On a better note, I slept with a body pillow last night and IT WAS WONDERFUL.  Continue reading

Weeks 15 and 16

I was a slacker and didn’t update last week.  By the time I felt like it, I thought ehhhhh it’s almost time for the next one, so I’ll just wait.  Last week, I was particularly lazy. And now you suffer the consequences along with me because this post is WAY LONG.

On Monday, for Labor Day, we went to my aunt’s house for a barbecue.  It was a lot of fun.  It was also the first time seeing many of my family members since I got pregnant.  I think they were quite disappointed with my belly progress, haha.  Oh well.  I reassured them that, by Thanksgiving, I’m sure I’ll have a much more satisfactory bump.  Continue reading

OB Appointment / Week 14

I didn’t have a lot to say about entering my 14th week of pregnancy, so I decided to wait until after my Dr appointment (today) to post an update.  First, the appointment.  Went in and, as always, peed in a cup.  Oh boy.  Was called back shortly after.  Nurse weighed me.  I gained 4 lbs since the last appointment (3 lbs since the first; I somehow supposedly lost a pound between the first and second appointments).  Doctor came in and had me lay down on the table.  “Getting a little tummy on you,” she said. =)  I guess that’s supposed to happen.  Then she measured my uterus, during which she commented, “It’s growing!”  Good thing!  Then we heard the heartbeat.  Continue reading

Random.

Yeah, I just updated 2-3 days ago.  But I feel the need to share some random items before bed.

1. I would like to thank the inventors of belly bands.  They are AMAZING.  Technically, I can still button most of my pants.  But it feels a lot better if I don’t.  We’ll see how they hold up with an expanding belly, but so far I think they were a good investment.  Thing I’ll have to watch out for: they are soooo comfy, I might have to make a conscious effort to actually get rid of stuff that didn’t fit before I got pregnant.  I know this won’t last long (at all), but right now I feel like my wardrobe has actually expanded. All kinds of things fit just fine so long as I don’t have to zip them. *lol* Continue reading

Week 13

The first week of the second trimester! Or the last week of the first trimester, depending on your source. Exciting! Thinking of all the things that have to get done before the baby is here, I already feel like I need more time!  Haha.  It’ll all get done, one way or another. =)

Last time, I spoke too soon about getting my energy back.  The fatigue is still nothing like what it was before, but this weekend I’ve been napping like it’s going out of style.  I looooove naps.

I think I’m entering that “has that girl been eating more snacks lately??” stage of pregnancy.  A stranger would hardly guess that I’m pregnant, but things are looking and feeling just a little different.  Continue reading

Week 12. Stuff and things.

Week 12.  The last week of the first trimester!  Holy smokes.  I’ll probably start growing a real belly soon. =)  I can already feel myself returning to “normal.”  In the last week, I have eaten (and enjoyed) two things I haven’t wanted to eat in a long time.  Chinese food and ice cream.  I’m not in a particular hurry to eat either one again, but it wasn’t so bad.  The ice cream was particularly good.  Mmm, double dip waffle cone.  I felt like I overdid it, but it was yummy.  My dad would be proud.  He says I need to eat more crap like that. =P  I have also been less tired.  I am tired some, but I’m not quite the narcoleptic zombie I was those first few weeks! Obligatory Week 11 Post

Obligatory because I don’t have much to say.  I intended to take a belly shot, but I was too lazy.  I don’t think it has changed much since the last one anyway.  I also intended to take a picture of my belly button (lol).  Just because it is kind of an odd innie-outie hybrid, and there’s a good chance that, after a few months, it’ll never look the same again, haha.  Symptoms I suppose are the same.  There are good days and bad days as far as the fatigue goes.  I was looking over some old posts, and I saw the one about waking up early.  I don’t have that problem anymore!   Sorry for the short, boring update.  Click past the break if you want to see the 11 week cartoon.  Continue reading

OB Appointment #2! We Heard the Heartbeat!

Had my 2nd OB appointment today.  I actually got in early.  Couldn’t believe it.  Didn’t involve much.  Just peed in a cup, weighed, nurse took my blood pressure.  Then Dr came in, felt my uterus, measured.  Put a little jelly on the doppler, moved it around for a minute or two.  Then there it was!   Once she found it, it was really obvious what it was.  So strong and fast!  =)  She counted it at 174 BPM, which is in the normal range for 10 weeks.  It’ll be slower next time.  Continue reading

Week 10

Short update today since there’s nothing new to report really.  I feel pretty accomplished reaching a double digit week. =P  Hopefully I’ll have more to report on Tuesday (August 3), when I have my next OB appointment.  I’m reeaaallllllyy hopeful that we’ll get to hear the heartbeat, but it’s possible we won’t, so I’m trying to prep myself to not be TOO disappointed if we can’t.  It’s not really working. =)  Continue reading
