10 weeks! Into the double digits now! I am 25% of the way there! (Kinda, those first 4 weeks should hardly count, though they have nervous anticipation of a different sort.) I am starting to feel like this little one is actually going to stick. It still feels so surreal, but it’s getting a little more real . . . day by day. There’s actually not a lot to say about today, but rather than try to split everything up this time, I’m just going to tackle one beast of a post. Because Sunday, and Saturday to a lesser extent, were quite exciting. And not in a good way. Continue reading

A Trip to the ER (Part 3)
Okaayyyyy well I had a busy last few days and didn’t get to update. Already starting to forget some details (really, as much detail as I put in here, maybe that’s actually a good thing). And forgetting the updates I wanted to post after I finally finished my ER tale. So I better hurry up and get to typing.
So I finally settled into my room. They gave me a lovely hospital gown and said to undress completely except I could keep panties on (for now). And socks…’cause I asked. Continue reading
A Trip to the ER (Part 2)
This is a continuation of my last post, so you may want to start there, if you wish/dare. It’s kinda TMI though. This one isn’t too TMI (relatively speaking?), but it does get into some descriptive anatomical terms.
So we arrived at the ER around 2:10 pm. I had never set foot in any ER before, so it was totally a new experience. The waiting room wasn’t totally nuts, not as much as I’d expected. I walked up to the nurse where you check in, then waited to be called up for registration. This part was only a few minutes. I went up, got my over-sized hospital bracelet (really? it couldn’t have been put on any tighter?), which I would proceed to nearly lose (usually it was in my coat sleeve or something) multiple times over the course of the afternoon. A trip to the ER (Part 1)
Basically this whole write up will be TMI for a lot of people, so I’ll go ahead and say, if you don’t like details, don’t click past the break. Everything before the break should be safe. So spoiler alert: everything is fine…right now. Baby looks perfect. Was diagnosed with a “small” subchorionic hemorrhage. Which, from what I can gather, may turn out fine in the end. But it’s still a higher risk situation. So we’re happy to know there’s a healthy baby in there, but scared about the possibilities, especially since our hearts are in our throats as it is. I hope to know more after I get a chance to talk to my obgyn’s office tomorrow. (Actually, this is getting really long, and I didn’t quite have time to finish, so I’ll be splitting this into at least 2 posts.) Continue reading
