Quick update (belly pic)

Just a quick update.  Yesterday morning, I woke up with a bump.  It had been there a little bit for a while, but not as much.  A lot of this happened literally overnight.  I felt better in a way because I keep feeling like I should be bigger!  I know I shouldn’t complain because I have many more weeks to grow!  I think it looks bigger when I’m just standing there looking in the mirror, too.  As opposed to trying to take a picture of it.  And when I’m sitting it kinda pooches out, lol.  I can feel it more when I’m sitting, too. 11 Weeks

11 weeks.  A delightfully boring time I’ve been having since the events of my last update!  I put off posting for a few reasons (today I’m actually 11 weeks + 4 days).  In part because really there hasn’t been much to report.  And also because I’ve had some thoughts brewing about some other somewhat related thoughts that are going to be kind of hard to get out.  But I think maybe I will try.  Soon.  Continue reading

36 Weeks + 4 days / OB Appointment / Lots of pics

Ohhh, there are lots of things to say because I procrastinated again.  So I’ll start with the doctor visit because it may be the most interesting.  My appointment was supposed to be yesterday, but things changed with The Great Blizzard of 2011.  That makes it sound way more dramatic than maybe it is, but the streets are still a mess.  Counting tomorrow, local schools are out four days this week (they only went Monday), and I don’t remember that ever happening.

So anyway, ice and sleet early Tuesday morning + 8-9 inches of snow on top of that = Dr. offices still closed on Wednesday.  Continue reading

Week 32

Not as much to say this time since I just updated yesterday.  If I were my mom, I’d only have 2 weeks left to go.  I hope Baby Girl gives me more time than that, though.  Even if SHE decides she’s ready, mommy is definitely going to need more time.  To-do list is overwhelming me.  SO OVERWHELMED.  Tomorrow needs to be a productive day.  (Which probably means I should go to bed since it’s about 1 am as I proofread this post.)

I had a funny/disturbing pregnancy dream again.  I think I’ve mentioned before, I’m feeling the baby move a lot, but it’s not those tiny little jabs anymore.  I can definitely feel that she’s bigger and she has a little less space to move around.  Continue reading

Weeks 29 & 30

Holy crap, I haven’t had a period in 214 days!

Holy crap, I’m 75% done being pregnant!

Last two weeks or so, my belly has been growing by. the. minute.  Little girl has to fatten up in there, so I’m just gonna keep on growin’. =)  So far, it’s mostly belly, so I guess I can’t complain. =)  I still kinda like it, actually.  It’s juuuust starting to get a little uncomfortable.  Only a little, and only sometimes.  I’m sure the discomfort will be a more prominent feature of this pregnancy in a few short weeks. Week 24 (and 23…and a CRAZY dream)

Ohh, I have been so lazy.  No pictures, no updates.  I will start with a CRAZY dream I had last week.  A creepy baby dream.

I dreamed I had to go to the hospital, I think for a fever.  When I was there, it wasn’t hospital-like at all, more like science lab with pretty much no privacy.  But it was just me, a few nurses, and another patient in a bed a few yards away in a biiiig room.  My nurse was doing all kinds of random tests, which was weird, but I didn’t worry too much about it.  Next she started getting ready to do an ultrasound.  Continue reading

Week 19(ish)

We were at Walgreens recently to buy a card to mail Pete’s folks their ultrasound picture.  While there, I thought it would be a good idea to get some dark chocolate peanut M&Ms.  It was a good idea.  Because I ate some, and I liked it.  I think Baby Girl liked it, too because she got a little sugar rush.  I know it’s bad, but it was so fun to feel her being active.

It doesn’t have to be M&Ms though.  One afternoon, I made a microwave pizza for lunch.  She went nuts!  She either reaalllly liked it or reaalllly didn’t (I prefer to think it’s the former).  But I loved feeling her dancing around in there.  I can’t wait till I’m feeling her more.  It seemed a little more frequent today, but it’s generally rather sporadic. Weeks 15 and 16

I was a slacker and didn’t update last week.  By the time I felt like it, I thought ehhhhh it’s almost time for the next one, so I’ll just wait.  Last week, I was particularly lazy. And now you suffer the consequences along with me because this post is WAY LONG.

On Monday, for Labor Day, we went to my aunt’s house for a barbecue.  It was a lot of fun.  It was also the first time seeing many of my family members since I got pregnant.  I think they were quite disappointed with my belly progress, haha.  Oh well.  I reassured them that, by Thanksgiving, I’m sure I’ll have a much more satisfactory bump.  Continue reading

Week 13

The first week of the second trimester! Or the last week of the first trimester, depending on your source. Exciting! Thinking of all the things that have to get done before the baby is here, I already feel like I need more time!  Haha.  It’ll all get done, one way or another. =)

Last time, I spoke too soon about getting my energy back.  The fatigue is still nothing like what it was before, but this weekend I’ve been napping like it’s going out of style.  I looooove naps.

I think I’m entering that “has that girl been eating more snacks lately??” stage of pregnancy.  A stranger would hardly guess that I’m pregnant, but things are looking and feeling just a little different.  Continue reading

Week 9

I was thinking of things to add during the week last week, but I can’t really think of much this time.  I’m mostly feeling the same.  Still not sick.  But some smells put me off.  We used to looooove to get Chinese food.  Now I can’t stand the thought of kung pao chicken. (I don’t even want to type it!)  Pete still enjoys it, so he gets it sometimes, but I haven’t eaten it in a while.  I’ve been talking to a few pregnant people and some recently-pregnant people, and they would talk about how they were always hungry.  I really hadn’t experienced that.  Until last week.  Only problem: I’m hungry, but NOTHING sounds good.  Absolutely nothing.  So frustrating.  I know I’m rambling, but click past the break.  I’m just warming up.  Continue reading
