Gah! Plan Failed!

Okay, so the conversation was supposed to go something like this:

Me: Here, Mom, two bottles of wine I’m not going to drink.  You can have them.
Mom: Oh thanks!  But why don’t you drink them?
Me: Hm, I would, but I think it wouldn’t be good for the baby.
Mom: !!!

Instead it went something like this:  Continue reading

First (Real) OB Appointment

Had my first appointment with the doctor today.  I was called back only about 15-20 minutes late (could be a lot worse at an OB’s office).  All my blood work came back normal, yay. =)  Found out my blood type for sure: A+  We could speculate before, but I never knew for sure.  Doctor reinforced that fatigue, sore breasts, mild cramps, and nausea are all normal.  Check, check, check…but no nausea.  Doctor reiterated that the nausea may still come within a couple of weeks.  I think she really wanted me to understand that. =P  Continue reading

First OB Appointment! (Kinda)

Today, I had my first appointment at the ob-gyn’s office.  I won’t actually see the doctor until Tuesday, hence the “kinda” in the title.  It still feels really surreal.

I was called back about 10-15 minutes late.  I was a little nervous because I didn’t block off my whole work day, but I did give myself a buffer if things took longer than the hour I was told to expect.  I was actually done in less than an hour, so everything worked out fine.  Continue reading

A Darker Line

While I know the color of the test line can vary from test to test, and I know the shade of pink doesn’t really matter…I still kind of wanted to see if I’d have a nice, dark line now that I’m 18 dpo. =D  Turns out I can, and I have photographic evidence. =P  Click past the break if you don’t mind seeing evidence of my pee. Waking Up Earlier

I mentioned this in my last post, but it was probably so long that no one except maybe my mom will want to read it. =P  I don’t have a lot of symptoms (yet?), but one interesting one is that I’m waking up much earlier!  With maybe one exception, I’ve woken up well before my alarm every morning since before I got that positive pregnancy test.  It’s not even like I’m uncomfortable or I have to pee.  I just wake up.   Continue reading

First blog entry! We have a secret!

I’ve never been interested in blogging, but I decided I wanted a way to chronicle…my first pregnancy! For myself and to share with family and friends.  I wish I had thought of this four days ago when we found out, so this first post is a lot of catching up.  I apologize in advance for the length.  (Click past the break. Trust me, it’s long.)  Continue reading
