Not so much a secret anymore….

Many more people are now “in” on our news.  I thought maybe telling people would make it feel more real, but it hasn’t to the extent I thought it would.

On Saturday night, we told my brother.  I’d been wanting to anyway, but I kind of had to since he’s too keen for his own good. =P  Over the holiday weekend, we visited Tulsa, so we got to tell Pete’s folks and our friends Jon and Itsuka.  (For those who don’t know, Jon and Pete have been best friends since they were kids.  Pete views Jon as a brother.)  I had intended to post an update for when I hit six weeks pregnant (that was Sunday), but that didn’t happen.  I also meant to post a picture of my (clothed) belly (lack of baby bump) to start a record of the progress that will be making over the next few weeks.  I also thought perhaps, in a few months, I might like to be able to remember that my stomach was actually, at one time, somewhat flat. =P

After returning from our trip, I informed work since it is going to affect my schedule and I need to be able to block off times for my doctor appointments.  I was nervous about that, but it went rather well.  Also had a fun time telling my grandmas.  I expected a slightly different reaction from my Grandma Charlotte, but I think it had to sink in a little more gradually with her.  =)  It has been so fun getting everyone’s reactions because everyone has been so happy for us.  There are still several people to tell personally before it becomes general public (and facebook) knowledge.

Since I missed my 6-week post, I’ll go ahead and post this.  This is what my tiny, grain-of-rice-sized baby alien looked like a couple of days ago. 😉
