January 1, 2011. We celebrate our 6th anniversary! We actually spent our afternoon at a friend’s wedding. It’s kind of cool that we’ll be sharing our anniversary. I maintain that wearing a dress makes a pregnant chick look even bigger. =) After the wedding, we crashed for a few at our hotel, then went out for an anniversary dinner date. It was quite nice. Strange to think that next time we want go on an anniversary date, we’ll need a babysitter!

I was thinking about this in the last couple/few days, but it really struck me today when I actually said it. People ask me when I’m due, and I’ve been saying, “end of February.” Now I can say, “end of NEXT MONTH.” (!!!!!) Ohhh my gosh!

Ok people, time for another TMI moment. Remember when I said I wouldn’t hold back? Well, I’ve held back a little. But only a verrrrry little. So read at your own risk.

(…)

Still here? Okay. Tonight, as I was taking my shower, I made a startling discovery. I think…just maybe…I might have a hemorrhoid. I’m really not sure about that because they say hemorrhoids are painful, and there’s nothing painful or uncomfortable or even itchy. Just…something fleshy that wasn’t there yesterday. Honestly, I was mortified at the discovery. Being the kind of person that I am, I was really wishing I wasn’t at a hotel so I could get a mirror and see for myself. Gross? Perhaps. But I guess when I grow new fleshy parts overnight, I kinda want to know what they’re all about.

I told Pete, “I haven’t even been straining! After I actually give birth, it’s going to look like a tree down there!” (Pete wasn’t particularly thrilled with this thought of mine, but sometimes I just can’t hold back. I’m not generally a “thought enters brain, thought comes out of mouth” kind of person. Just with the people I love the most. So sorry.) I knew hemorrhoids were common at some point in this whole becoming-a-mother process, but I thought it was more during the actual childbirth. Since I’m at a hotel, what choice do I have but to consult Dr. Google? I totally do not recommend that, by the way. But I like to tell myself that I’m educated enough to filter out the crap or at least take it with a grain of salt if I can’t tell for sure if it’s crap or not. But it would seem that, if these are indeed hemorrhoids (which they probably are), they are a very common ailment in the 3rd trimester. Usually, they result from constipation (haven’t been constipated), but they don’t have to. My next Dr. appointment is on Wednesday, so I guess I can ask her about it then.

Edit (1/2/2010) – My problem seems to be smaller than it was yesterday. Aren’t you happy for me?
