Oh, and 31 weeks!<\/p>\n

But first, Christmas!\u00a0 A fun celebration this year.\u00a0 I think Baby Girl LOVES Christmas!\u00a0 She was so active and playful almost all day.\u00a0 People probably thought I was crazy because I was just sitting at my grandma’s house cracking up because it was so fun. =)\u00a0 She and I will have to have lots of fun every year.\u00a0 Because Daddy is a scrooge.<\/p>\n

Pete was having a fun time playing with her though.\u00a0 And I choose to believe that she was having a fun time playing with her daddy, too.\u00a0 He had his hands on my belly for a while, and every time he gently pushed my belly, she would push right back!\u00a0 Mom got to feel her kick and squirm, and Aunt Vickie got to feel a good kick, too.\u00a0 So fun.<\/p>\n

Maybe she was excited about all that food.\u00a0 It makes mommy excited, for sure. =)<\/p>\n

Baby girl also got some fun presents!\u00a0 **click pictures to embiggen<\/em><\/a>**<\/p>\n

Super cute Springfield Cards caps from my parents!\u00a0 (Mom said they found them on clearance before we knew it was a girl, so they got boy ones too just in case – haha.)<\/p>\n

My parents also got her some Dr Seuss baby board books.\u00a0 They said they really just got these for The Eye Book.\u00a0 I should read it and see if I can learn anything that might help at work. \ud83d\ude09\u00a0 I think they all look fun and cute.\u00a0 Also some fun popsicle molds.\u00a0 I had actually contemplated getting something like these for myself, so baby is going to have to share with momma here. =P<\/p>\n

She also got some more practical things like bibs and burp cloths.\u00a0 Apparently that Santa one wasn’t supposed to make it into my bag, but they didn’t want it back, either.\u00a0 I think my parents are partial to the I love Grandma\/Grandpa ones. =)<\/p>\n

She also got some cute socks from her Great Aunt Vickie!<\/p>\n

This Christmas was a lot of thinking about what next <\/em>Christmas will be like.\u00a0 Baby Girl will be about 10 months old by then.\u00a0 She’ll be old enough to be really interactive and interested in what is going on.\u00a0 She should be crawling, standing when she holds onto something\/someone, gesturing, etc.\u00a0 It’s going to be so fun!\u00a0 Christmas will never be the same.\u00a0 But in a very, very good way.<\/p>\n

Other than Christmas, no major highlights for this week.\u00a0 She’s definitely growing.\u00a0 It’s harder to tell lately at what rate the belly is growing.\u00a0 But it definitely, definitely is.\u00a0 The easiest way for ME to gauge it at this point isn’t looking at my profile in the mirror.\u00a0 It’s looking at how far I can see into my belly button.\u00a0 It is very, verrrry<\/em> shallow now.\u00a0 I’m predicting a complete pop in the next few weeks.\u00a0 Completely inside out.\u00a0 Turkey timer style.\u00a0 POP~!\u00a0 All done!<\/p>\n

Still no stretch marks (none pregnancy-related anyway…).\u00a0 Still praying against them, but predicting I’ll get them anyway.\u00a0 Most of my friends who got them got them in the last couple of weeks.\u00a0 So I can’t use my mom to predict since she never got to enjoy weeks 35-40 of pregnancy.\u00a0 They say nothing will really work to prevent them.\u00a0 You’ll either get em or you won’t.\u00a0 But God knows women all over the world will try…just in case.\u00a0 I haven’t bought anything fancy.\u00a0 But I’ll slather on some coconut oil or jojoba oil every night.\u00a0 Because if I didn’t, and then I got the stretch marks, I’d think to myself, “Dangit, if only I’d greased that sucker up.\u00a0 Then maybe this wouldn’t have happened.”\u00a0 Ah, well.\u00a0 Even if (when) I get them, I’ll just embrace them as a badge of motherhood.\u00a0 Easier said than done?\u00a0 Maybe.\u00a0 But they’ll be earned.<\/p>\n

I’m wondering if maybe I’ve started having a few Braxton Hicks contractions?\u00a0 I’m not convinced.\u00a0 But sometimes I feel something that isn’t painful…but definitely gets my attention.\u00a0 I had been blaming it on a squirmy baby, but now I’m not sure.\u00a0 It’s not what I thought it would feel like.\u00a0 But there are all kinds of things about pregnancy that you can read about and talk to your friends about…and still not REALLY know anything about it.\u00a0 Joints are also popping a little more sometimes, especially around my hips.<\/p>\n

Bought the crib, crib mattress, and changing table tonight (online).\u00a0 FINALLY got that crossed off the list.\u00a0 I’m pretty excited.\u00a0 They should arrive next week.\u00a0 Considered ordering the little dresser that matches, but we’re going to check a few discount furniture stores first to see if we can find something affordable that is larger and better quality.<\/p>\n
